Reading your story (and your honestly about how it feels to share it) helps me feel seen, and I am beyond grateful for all the heart and soul you put into this piece. So beautifully written, my friend.
Thanks so much for the opportunity Vanessa, and our conversations leading up to this really helped. We all want to feel safe when being seen - thanks for giving me a chance to share my story in a kind environment.
Beautiful beautiful piece, Sophie! So proud of your journey and I'm beyond proud of you for stepping up and becoming more visible. The world needs your brilliance and community gatherings. BRAVO!
What a beautiful piece. Sophie, I am so honored to be in your world, and I know firsthand how many people you have helped step into their own form of expression, entrepreneurship, and/or visibility.
You stepping into your visibility, gives space for so many others to learn from you, and I am beyond honored to have a front seat in watching the impact that you’ve made.
Grace, I feel so lucky that we’ve been part of each other’s journeys over the past decade, supporting and encouraging each other to grow and think bigger. You’ve helped me become more visible too, in more ways than you realize. So grateful for you, our friendship, and the incredible community you have built that gives us wings!
Wonderful perspective, we can all relate. I am lucky enough to know Sophie and have watched her build this incredible substacker community, she is incredible!
I love this so much, Sophie! Related deeply to this line: "as a British person who struggles with the concept of self-love or being your own best friend" hahah. Sorting through similar feelings lately about visibility / being on camera, etc and especially the relationship between visibility and vulnerability. I've been turning to poet David Whyte — who is English and Irish! — a lot lately... I especially love his poem "Vulnerability." Hoping to write about all this soon in my own work... https://www.themarginalian.org/2016/04/11/david-whyte-vulnerability/
It is your turn to shine :) I love reading how life keeps encouraging you to share all of the wisdom you've collected. I always try to remind myself that we're supported by something greater on this messy twisty journey of entrepreneurship!
Thank you so much Jillian, I’m really grateful for your encouragement. It means a lot to have people like you cheering me on as I find my messy way through this new chapter.
Visibility IS a practice! And I'm so grateful you're practicing it. Finding your voice, and your quiet, purposeful leadership in the community has been a gift. Keep sharing yourself and we'll keep listening (and watching) ☺️
Thank you so much Yuliya! I’m learning that visibility is something we practice, little by little. Your encouragement means so much to me—and I’ll keep practicing!
Seeing you several times at the Hivery, I never would have guessed that you felt this way, because you SHINE. The world needs more of you and your gifts! Visibility is a hard one for me. I want to be seen but I avoid the opportunity to be seen. Thank you for the vulnerability.
Oh, what a beautiful piece Sophie! I loved reading every single word of it and I'm cheering you on 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 also love this collab seeing you on Tomatokind which is the perfect publication for you to be vulnerable in ❤️

Thanks so much Kate - and I loved this article, thanks for sharing it!
Revealing vulnerability is a big part of aliveness, and taking steps to be more visible (especially during midlife) are acts of courage.

This is so beautifully written - love it Sophie! I will definitely be sharing this far and wide - we can all learn a bit from these words.
Thanks Jackie, I truly appreciate it!
